    Girls Gotta Run Foundation Board Treasurer

    The Treasurer is a key officer on the Girls Gotta Run Foundation's Board of Directors, responsible for overseeing the financial health of the Girls Gotta Run Foundation (GGRF). The role involves managing and reporting on the organization’s financial position, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting practices, and supporting financial strategy in alignment with GGRF’s mission to empower girls and women through education and running in Ethiopia.

    The Treasurer works closely with the Executive Director and Board members to ensure financial transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability. This is a voluntary, unpaid role.

    Girls Gotta Run is a non-profit organization that invests in girls who use running and education to empower themselves and their communities in Ethiopia.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Oversight and Reporting

    • Oversee the organization’s financial activities and ensure accurate financial record-keeping and reporting.
    • Present financial reports to the Board of Directors at regular intervals or as needed.
    • Ensure the organization adheres to financial policies and legal requirements.
    • Prepare, or ensure the preparation of, all necessary financial documentation, including monthly financial statements (Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities).

    Budgeting and Financial Planning

    • Lead the development of GGRF’s annual budget and operating plan in collaboration with the Executive Director..
    • Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for financial adjustments or actions as necessary.
    • Ensure that budget allocations are aligned with GGRF’s strategic priorities.

    Cash Flow Management

    • Monitor cash flow and ensure that GGRF has sufficient liquidity to meet its short-term and long-term obligations.
    • Maintain operating and investment accounts consistent with prudent financial policies.
    • Approve monthly payroll, invoices, and expense reimbursements, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
    • Responsible for initiating and overseeing all wire transfers related to program grants.

    Fundraising and Financial Strategy

    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and development team to provide financial insights and guidance on fundraising strategies.
    • Assist with financial planning for special projects, grants, or capital campaigns.
    • Support donor reporting and grant compliance by providing timely financial data when required.
