The Treasurer will support the work of Foundation for Recovery and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance primarily through oversight of the organization’s financial health and transparent accounting practices. While day-to-day operations are led by Foundation for Recovery’s executive director (ED), the Board-ED relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. The board treasurer is an executive and voting member of the board of directors. He/she is accountable to the Board for the fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities outlined below:
Board Terms and Participation
Foundation for Recovery’s Board Members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for additional terms. Board meetings will be held quarterly via teleconference and committee meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings. The level of participation and involvement varies but generally board members can expect a minimum of 1-5 hours per month.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about Foundation for Recovery’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
About Foundation for Recovery
Foundation for Recovery is Nevada’s largest peer-led nonprofit, providing no-cost, non-clinical recovery support services to Las Vegas residents impacted by substance use, problem gambling, and mental health disorders while creating inclusive community hubs of healing, recovery, and growth. Recovery supports work to build community among people with a history of substance use or mental health conditions and focus on maintaining recovery beyond clinical interventions through four domains: health, home, community, and purpose. Recovery supports include peer-based mentorship and recovery coaching, employment support and educational programs, pro-social activities and events, mutual-aid and peer-led support groups, stable and safe housing.
Established in 2005, Foundation for Recovery is Nevada's first and only statewide Recovery
Community Organization. Our philosophy is that those closest to the issue are closest to
the solution. Which is why most of our staff and volunteers who drive our mission are
people with their own life experiences recovering from addiction and co-occurring
disorders, many of whom have personally utilized and navigated treatment,
housing, and justice systems in Nevada.
