Director of Development

Job Description:

Night Owl Reconnaissance is looking for a Development Director. This individual will seek out fundraising opportunities, lead a team of grant writing volunteers, research and identify viable opportunities for funding, build rapport with funding personnel, and review/submit grant applications as identified and prepared by the Development team.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and evaluating fundraising campaigns and activities.
• Identifying and stewarding prospective donors.
• Working closely with the recruitment team to recruit fundraising volunteers.
• Train fundraising volunteers
• Facilitating weekly meetings with fundraising volunteers.
• Staying on top of fundraising trends in the nonprofit community.
• Communicating with donors and staff via email, phone or social media.
• Answering donor and staff inquiries in a timely fashion.
• Using prospect research tools and the donor database to build donor relationships.
• Drafting grant proposals and applications.
• Creating solicitation materials for the organization.

Job Requirements:

• Written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Fundraising software and tools experience.
• Donor and volunteer service mentality
• Ability to lead a team
