    Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer

    The Treasurer will provide the financial expertise to steer the Board of Directors toward a sustainable future as we enter a new era with the park's $4 million capital renovation, building on the achievements of a volunteer organization that has served in cooperation with NYC Dept. of Parks and Recreation for more than 20 years.

    Responsible for all funds of the organization, the ideal candidate will interface with our fundraising and development activities.

    • As Chair of Finance Committee, oversees the Board’s financial responsibilities.
    • Works with FDHP executive committee and bookkeeper.
    • Reports on a quarterly basis to Board of Directors and at our Annual Meeting.
    • Helps develop presentations to major donors.
    • Assists in preparing the annual budget
    • Works with the Finance Committee and Board leadership to develop fiscal policies to ensure financial integrity, compliance and sustainability.
    • Keeps current on nonprofit fiscal management.
    • Reviews and approves the organization’s annual 990EZ filing to the IRS.

    Desired Qualifications

    • CPA or comparable skills with at least three years professional experience working in a financial capacity, i.e. financial planning/advising, accounting, fiscal management/
    • Prior experience that demonstrates community service.

    The mission of FDHP is the preservation, beautification and health of Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, the largest public park in Midtown East Manhattan, historically known as Gateway to the United Nations.
