Volunteer Gastroenterology Teaching Assistant

The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Position Overview:

The Gastroenterology Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching courses related to the gastrointestinal system, assisting students, and enhancing their understanding of key concepts.

Location: Remote

Time commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• • Teaching Support: Lead discussion groups, facilitate review sessions, and assist with course materials related to gastroenterology.
  • Grading: Assess assignments and exams while maintaining accurate performance records.
  • Student Assistance: Offer support to students in understanding gastrointestinal anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Content Preparation: Assist in developing study guides, quizzes, and other learning materials.
  • Engagement: Foster a supportive learning environment to ensure student success.

Qualifications:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medicine, or a related field; graduate students in medical or biological sciences are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the gastrointestinal system and related physiological processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior teaching or tutoring experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
