This is a virtual training for tutors in Essex & Passaic Counties, New Jersey for Literacy Volunteers of America, Essex & Passaic Counties. Learn to teach other adults to communicate in Basic Literacy (BL) or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). After training, you will be matched with a small group of students (three to five students) and tutor them for at least two hours each week via distance learning or in-person. LVA tutoring sessions will go back to in-person once the COVID-19 threat dissipates and therefore this opportunity is only for local residents of Essex and Passaic Counties or others than can meet in-person in these counties.
