2 weeks monastery Teaching and a week adventure

Volunteers will be primarily responsible for teaching English in monasteries, basic mathematics, and life skills to young novice monks. Many of these monks, often between the ages of 7 to 18, come from remote regions of Nepal, Tibet, and the Himalayan areas. Since English is not their first language, lessons are usually simple, interactive, and fun.

Beyond academics, volunteers also engage in conversational practice, storytelling, creative activities, and cultural exchange to help the monks develop their confidence in speaking English. Activities such as singing songs, practicing basic grammar, and discussing global cultures make learning enjoyable for the young monks.

Daily Life and Cultural Exchange

Life in the monastery follows a structured routine based on Buddhist principles, meditation, and rituals. As a volunteer, you get to:

• Participate in morning and evening prayer sessions, learning Buddhist chants and meditation techniques.
• Observe the monks' daily rituals, including ceremonial pujas and teachings by senior monks.
• Enjoy traditional vegetarian meals, often simple yet nourishing.
• Engage in friendly conversations with monks, exchanging ideas about philosophy, mindfulness, and world views.
