Who are we? What do we do?
We are compassionate, trained volunteers serving as phone buddies to isolated seniors. Our weekly conversations alleviate loneliness and create a vital human connection.
What to expect as a Friendly Voices volunteer:
- 60-90 minutes time investment per week. You'll be matched with 2 seniors, each of whom you'll call every week at a scheduled day/time. Each phone conversation is about 30 minutes. Typically these conversations are on weekdays between 9am-5pm PT. (We primarily serve clients in California.)
- Training is 2 hours by Zoom. Our next training will take place in May, 2025. 6-month volunteer commitment after training is expected. Age 40+ preferred.
