Family Shelter Onsite Cook

Emmaus is seeking volunteers who will bring care, compassion and dedicate their time to serving at the Family Shelter. These efforts are vital to ensuring that our shelter guests feel welcome and valued. 

Duties:

• Create 2-course meal menu with the four food components: protein, fruit/vegetables, grain, and dessert

• Prepare a meal for 26 families, which includes 35-40 adult portions and 25 child portions that adhere to high food quality and nutrition standards 

• Ensure that the kitchen and equipment are kept in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary condition

Hours Needed: The time of day is flexible, the average time needed is 2-3 hours 

Time Commitment: At least once per month 

Number of Volunteers Needed: 1 – 4 people

Requirements:

• Volunteer Application

• Proof of COVID Vaccine

• Signed Waiver

• Volunteer Orientation

• CORI (NH residents must complete both MA and NH CORI)

• Copy of Driver’s License

• Kitchen Safety Training with the Volunteer Manager
