Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation

Explore opportunities to volunteer abroad in India on an animal rescue and rehabilitation project. Our partner non-profit provides rescue, rehabilitation and release services for injured, displaced and abused animals. Ranging from over 200 species of wildlife from monkeys to endangered birds, help out in the rehabilitation and educational outreach projects around the importance of animal protection and diversity.

TYPICAL DAY

Volunteers wake up for breakfast in your airbnb, hostel or coliving accommodation. By 9:30 AM, take an auto-rickshaw to the animal rescue center where you work alongside animal doctors, specialists and activisits. Assist in the regular upkeep of animals as well as developing outreach programs. Activities include:

• Building toys for monkeys
• Collecting blankets and warm materials for animals
• Learning about wildlife surgeries and medical operations
• Understanding releases back into the natural habitat
• Conducting workshops and awareness programs for schools and companies
• Designing presentation material
• Researching facts about wildlife and urbanization
• Partnering with allies and other orgs
• Brainstorming fundraising opportunities and grants

REQUIREMENTS

In order to match our volunteers and interns to the best possible experience, we want to make sure you are aligned with the project needs. For education based work, we require:

• 18 Years or older
• Fluent in English
• Completed High School
• Interested in and comfortable working with animals
• CV/Resume
• Phone Interview
• Ability to commit for 2 weeks (or more)
