🚜 Volunteer for a Hands-On Construction & Demolition Project – Help Build a Shed for Youth Bike Program! 🚜

Calling all carpenters, construction workers, trade school students, and outdoor volunteers! We need your skills for a demo and shed-building project to support our Youth Bike Repair Program in Hagerstown, MD this June/July! If you love outdoor volunteer work, construction projects, or demolition (Demo Day(s)!), this is the perfect opportunity to give back while putting your skills to use!

How You Can Help:

✔ Demolition work (breaking down old structures)

✔ Carpentry & shed construction (building a storage space for bike repair supplies)

✔ Debris cleanup & hauling (if you have a pickup truck, even better, but not required!)

✔ General labor & teamwork – no experience needed, just a willingness to help!

Who We’re Looking For:

🔨 Construction professionals, carpenters, and tradespeople

🔨 Trade school students (great for hands-on experience!)

🔨 High school/college students needing community service or credit hours

🔨 Veterans & veteran families (youth 8-17 welcome for the bike program!)

🔨 Outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hands-on volunteer projects

🔨 Corporate & community groups (perfect for team-building volunteer days!)

Project Details:

📍 Location: Hagerstown, MD (Volunteers from MD, PA, WV welcome! We’ve had helpers from Montgomery & Frederick County, Shippensburg, Chambersburg, and Shepherd University in the past!)

📅 When: June/July 2024 (flexible dates for groups)

🛠 Bring: Work gloves, safety gear if you have it (we’ll provide some if you don't)

📝 Requirement: Must sign a hold harmless waiver

Why Volunteer?

This project supports our Youth Bike Repair Program, where kids learn bike repair, maintenance, and mechanical skills—and get to keep their bikes after the program! After a year of planning and permitting delays, we’re finally ready to build, and we need your muscle and expertise to make it happen!

This project also supports our Youth Urban Farm Program, where kids learn to produce their own food in small spaces!

Last year, a construction company volunteered, but delays pushed us to this summer—so now’s your chance to step in and help! Whether you’re a skilled tradesperson or just love outdoor DIY projects, your help will make a huge impact.
