Summer Retail Greeter Volunteers

This summer, you can provide excellent service to our visitors and create a memorable experience. Honor, remember, and volunteer.

The National September 11 Memorial and Museum honors and remembers the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. Through their purchase of meaningful keepsakes at the Museum Store, visitors help preserve history and support the Memorial & Museum’s mission. Summer Retail Greeter volunteers are an essential part of our team as we welcome millions of visitors.

DETAILS:

Summer Retail volunteers assist staff in the Museum Store and at the Retail carts on the Memorial during this busy time. As a Summer Retail volunteer, you will greet visitors and provide helpful information about products.

Responsibilities include:

• Inform visitors about products and store promotions
• Share stories behind products as they connect to themes in the Museum, such as recovery efforts and remembrance
• Assist with tagging, inventory, folding t-shirts and restocking items

With training, you can teach visitors stories that they will share with family and friends.

TIME COMMITMENT:

We recommend summer volunteers work two 4-hour shifts per week (8 hours each week) for 2-3 months. We ask that you maintain the same two shifts each week, when possible. You are requested not to miss more than two shifts in the summer. We will ask you to make up missed shifts within two weeks.
