Playwright- Lyricist

About Us: Raw Earth Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental education and sustainability. We are launching Raw Earth Kids, a fun and engaging YouTube series designed to teach kids about sustainability, plant identification, and eco-friendly habits through storytelling, music, and adventure. We’re looking for a creative and passionate Writer-Composer / Playwright-Lyricist to help bring our series to life with engaging scripts and original songs that inspire and educate young audiences. This is a volunteer position, ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact through storytelling and music.

Responsibilities:

• Write scripted episodes for the Raw Earth Kids series, featuring six diverse young protagonists and their adventures in sustainability.
• Create original songs (lyrics and/or melodies) that reinforce educational themes and engage children through music.
• Collaborate with our animator, creative team, and educational advisors to ensure content is both entertaining and informative.
• Develop reusable dialogue, character interactions, and musical themes that align with the show’s tone and mission.
• Work on character-driven storytelling with humor, warmth, and action-oriented messages.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a scriptwriter, playwright, lyricist, or songwriter, preferably in children’s media.
• Strong understanding of rhyming schemes, musical storytelling, and educational content for young audiences.
• Ability to write engaging, age-appropriate dialogue with diverse characters.
• Passion for sustainability, environmental education, and empowering young minds.
• Ability to collaborate with a creative team and adapt to feedback.
• Experience in children’s theater, animation, or musical storytelling is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic understanding of music composition or melody writing (though a composer can be paired if needed).
• Familiarity with YouTube content creation and digital storytelling.
• Experience working with nonprofits or educational programs.
