Board of Directors - Positions Open

Our board is a group of local community members that help ensure DC Collaborative is a strong, healthy organization that centers its mission and uses its resources as best as possible.

Board members are passionate about our city, dedicated to equity, and acknowledge that the arts and humanities are central to students’ comprehensive education. A DC Collaborative board member is committed to sharing their unique skills, connections, relationships, and ideas to help us meet organizational goals.

We are looking for a diverse group of new board members with a wide range of lived experiences that collectively represent the richness of the city.

     Applications are due August 23rd.

    History

DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative is a member service organization founded in 1998 by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and HumanitiesDC. Celebrating its 25th year, DC Collaborative is a recipient of the 2022 Mayor’s Arts Award for Excellence in the Humanities, and also under new leadership that began in January 2023.

    Value

DC Collaborative engages the District’s arts and humanities community by providing services that advance equity and access to PreK-12 public school students. We support our members by offering:

    • Professional development workshops that help professionals improve student engagement
    • Education program support such as logistics and marketing, through “Arts and Humanities For Every Student” and transportation through Forward the A.R.T.S. Fund
    • Collective impact efforts through District Data Initiative, a platform for community conversations and city-wide data collection.

The Collaborative has helped DC’s arts and humanities community serve more than 750,000 students since 1998. Our members include arts and humanities organizations, practitioners, parents, and other professionals connected to our work. Read our Impact Report.
