    About CIE

The Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship (CIE) is a dynamic and mission-driven organization dedicated to making business ownership possible for people with limited resources in marginalized rural communities. We envision rural places with resilient, self-reliant, and just local economies benefiting all life. We provide a variety of programs, resources, and mentoring services to empower socioeconomically disadvantaged business owners and foster community growth. We are seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors to help guide our organization’s growth and maximize our impact.

    Position Overview

As a member of the Board of Directors, you will work closely with fellow board members and the executive team to ensure the organization’s mission is fulfilled, financial sustainability is maintained, and its vision is executed. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in the lives of rural entrepreneurs while expanding your network and engaging with a passionate community of changemakers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Governance: Oversee CIE's mission alignment, strategic direction, and organizational policies.
    • Fundraising & Financial Oversight: Support fundraising efforts to sustain and grow our programs
    • Advocacy: Represent CIE in your networks and advocate for our mission
    • Committee Involvement: Participate in at least one committee to support key organizational functions
    • Attendance: Attend monthly board meetings and periodic committee meetings

We are looking for individuals passionate about rural entrepreneurship and community development, especially those who represent the communities we serve- specifically from the Peninsula, Skagit, or Columbia Basin regions.

    Ideal candidates will possess:

    • Strong Leadership: Experience in leadership roles, with the ability to guide and support.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and make sound decisions for the organization’s success.
    • Relevant Expertise: Experience in areas such as human resources, law, information technology, or any other relevant field is a plus.

    Why Join the Board?

    • Make an Impact: Help shape the future of rural entrepreneurship and contribute to the growth of rural communities.
    • Expand Your Network: Connect with other professionals and leaders who share a passion for supporting entrepreneurs and making a difference.
    • Give Back: Use your expertise and resources to make a positive, lasting impact.
