    HDSA San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Board Member

    This is a VOLUNTEER position. Dates of virtual meetings: January 8, March 5, May 7, September 10, October 1, November 5.

    General Function: The Chapter Board of Directors is a volunteer led active fundraising board of directors that ensures all Chapter activities are conducted in accordance with the HDSA Strategic Plan, Chapter Agreement, Plan of Work, and HDSA policies and procedures. The Chapter Board is led by an Executive Committee consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

    Term of Service: Two Years – may be re-elected two times (in any board position) for a total of 6 years of service.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Attend and Participate in five (5) Board meetings via zoom or in-person. (6 a year)
    • Review and develop a plan to execute the Chapter Agreement, Plan of Work, Budget and Events Calendar.
    • Chair and serve on at least one committee - recruit and assign volunteers to all committees.
    • Develop a succession plan for future officers and elect a slate of officers annually.
    • Execute and participate in Chapter fundraising, education, advocacy and awareness events as planned in the Plan of Work, Budget and Events Calendar
    • Make a personal financial commitment to your Chapter.
    • Communicate and partner with the Chapter Advisory Committee (CAC) and Regional Development Officer.
    • Recruit, engage and mentor new Board and Committee members and committee volunteers.
    • Serve as an HDSA ambassador in the community.
    • Promote the use of the HDSA Connect for finding tools to help with volunteer work.
    • Submit timely Financials to the HDSA Controller.
    • Signors on Chapter bank account (President, Vice President, and Treasurer).
    • Participate in Regional meetings and share updates with Chapter Committee members.
    • Submit annual Conflict of Interest forms and abide by conflict-of-interest policies.
