    Who We Are

    LifeSmart Education is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that enhances the availability of nontraditional educational classes and resources for underserved youth and communities. We help those who need unwavering, positive life management skills. Youth aren't born knowing the life skills that we wish they did; they must be taught and molded into productive members of society. At LifeSmart Education we teach youth how to be socially and emotionally successful and enable them to achieve their highest potential as law-abiding global citizens.

    Why volunteer with LifeSmart Education?

    You will make a difference by giving back to the community. You will have the opportunity to use your skills and talents to help under-resourced youth. Gain valuable hands-on experience working with kids of various ages. 

    Summary

    We're seeking 2-4 dedicated volunteers to support our Back-to-School Literacy Camp from August 5-9, 2024, located on the NW side of Columbus. Two shifts available:

    1. Morning Shift (9:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.): Help teach literacy activities to English Language learners in rising grades 1-3. 
    2. Afternoon Shift (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.): Assist with literacy activities for English Language learners in rising grades 4-6.

    Join us in making a positive impact on these students' educational journey!

    *A fixed gas mileage stipend will be provided*

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Assist the teacher with other camp activities
    • Help Clean up after the camp activities
    • Facilitate reading and writing exercises as directed by the teacher
    • Encourage language development through interactive games and discussions as directed by the teacher
    • Provide individualized attention to students as needed

    Requirements

    • Be reliable, patient, and friendly
    • Must be able to pass a background check
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Enthusiasm for working with children
    • Basic understanding of literacy concepts
