Our Mission: We remove barriers to health with relentless compassion so that no one faces illness and injustice alone.
Lifelong was founded by volunteers in the '80s in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, delivering meals to folks with HIV. Lifelong has expanded since then and merged with the Northwest AIDS Alliance and Evergreen Health, and we now serve individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions including cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease, as well as seniors and folks with disabilities. We deliver medically tailored meals and culturally relevant grocery bags to people's homes primarily in King and Snohomish counties.
In 2023 we delivered 280,000 meals and 44,000 grocery bags to folks in need.
Where you come in
Lifelong is seeking volunteers to help out in our kitchen to prepare and package medically tailored meals for clients who are living with serious illnesses. Our kitchen volunteers play an important role in helping homebound individuals maintain their health and independence by preparing delicious and nutritious meals. No cooking experience is necessary!
Shift Times:
Mondays through Fridays: 9:30am-12:00pm; 1:30pm-4:00pm
Saturdays: 10:30am-1pm; 2:30pm-5:00pm
Requirements: All volunteers must obtain a Food Worker Card and show proof of Covid vaccination.
Ages: Ages 14+, 14 - 17 with a parental consent form which we will provide.

Next Steps to Volunteer
- Fill out and submit a volunteer application (located on our website, as a “apply now” button attached to each volunteer opportunity)
- The Volunteer Department will follow up once we receive your application to schedule a brief 10-15 minute phone interview to get to know you a bit, talk about our volunteer commitments, any requirements for the roles you are interested in, your questions, etc.
- Be placed to a volunteer role, agree on a regularly scheduled shift that works for you and start date, complete any last requirements.
