    Volunteer Mentor for Business Owners

    Commitment: 6 to 8 hours per month

    Location: Remote/Virtual (Preference for volunteers located in San Bernardino County and Riverside County, California)

    Overview:

    ONE i/e, a 501c-3 nonprofit, is seeking a dedicated volunteer to mentor business owners using the SLAM framework. The SLAM framework, which stands for Startup Launch Assistance Map, helps startups identify unmet needs, build effective teams, develop unique products, validate market strategies, and establish sustainable business models (www.slamprocess.com).

    Responsibilities:

    • Mentorship: Guide business owners in understanding and applying the SLAM framework.
    • Needs Assessment: Assist in identifying unmet needs, pains, and gains in the target market.
    • Team Building: Help identify key team members and advisors crucial for growth.
    • Product Development: Guide the development of MVP features and unique value propositions. MVP stands for Minimum Viable Product, the simplest version of a product to test the market and gather feedback.
    • Market Validation: Support the validation of market assumptions and customer feedback.
    • Go-to-Market Strategy: Advise on effective marketing channels and customer acquisition strategies.
    • Business Model: Assist in developing monetization strategies and calculating customer acquisition costs.
    • Eco-System Mapping: Help navigate the startup ecosystem, including competition, suppliers, and influencers.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in business development, entrepreneurship, or mentoring.
    • Willing to learn the SLAM framework and its application.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to commit 6 to 8 hours per month to mentoring sessions.
    • Passion for helping startups and small businesses succeed.
    • Preference for volunteers located in San Bernardino County and Riverside County, California.
