The Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) was established in 1988 to provide supplemental services and programs for an enhanced shopping environment on Myrtle Avenue from Wyckoff Avenue to Fresh Pond Road and contiguous side streets in Ridgewood. The services provided by the BID include Sanitation, Marketing & Promotion, Security, Beautification, Holiday Lights, Streetscape Improvements and Administration.
The BID helps to make Myrtle Avenue a great place to shop and do business by keeping the streets clean, safe, green and lively with programs and events. As the voice of the local real estate community and over 300 local merchants, we work to ensure that the retail mix is meeting shopper needs, and that the Myrtle Avenue BID is an ideal place for new and thriving businesses.

The mile long strip of Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood-otherwise known as the Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) - remains the retail epicenter of the Greater Ridgewood region.
Over 300 retail and service establishments occupy the ground floors mainly of three story brick buildings with retail/service, residential or storage units above.
The Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District boasts over 500,000 square feet of commercial space, including both national chains and family -owned shops, providing exceptional value and convenient shopping opportunities for the neighborhoods of Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village and Maspeth in Queens, as well as Ridgewood and Bushwick in Brooklyn.
The Myrtle Avenue BID began program services in July 1988. The BID provides supplemental services and programs for an enhanced shopping environment on Myrtle Avenue and adjacent side streets from Fresh Pond Road to Wyckoff Avenue in Ridgewood. Today the BID provides a variety of services, including daily sidewalk and curbside sweeping, graffiti cleaning, horticultural services, streetscape improvements, special events, plaza programming, annual street fairs and ongoing marketing, promotion programs. It seems approx. 250,000 serve the merchants, property owners and other stakeholders with our BID.
