    Acerca de

    Our Work

Our team has received generous grant funding to continue creating community-driven resources and culturally-grounded programming for Indigenous community members throughout Los Angeles County. We ensure our initiatives are reflective of the communities we serve enhancing our ability to promote equity and inclusion. Our work recognizes the interconnected nature of our relations, contributions and collective learning. The four pillars that guide our work include wellness, education, leadership and resources.

    Our Values

So’oh-Shinálí Sister Project (SSSP) is rooted in Indigenous core values, practices, and beliefs passed on to us by the matriarchs in our family, our grandmothers. Our 4 core values include relationships, respect, reciprocity, and responsibility.

Relationships - We recognize we are all interconnected. We uphold principles of kinship as we build and strengthen relations

Respect - We maintain respect for tribal diversity, varying practices, perspectives, experiences and approaches.

Reciprocity - We understand the power of providing mutual support, giving back and sharing resources.

Responsibility - We have a responsibility to care for our relatives in order to support and build community.
