Launched in 2021, TasselTurn Education (TTE) is an early-stage edtech nonprofit seeking to improve the lives of housing-insecure and foster care-involved youth and students through educational attainment. Given the high mobility rates of foster and housing insecure students, TTE leverages a unique model to connect students to educational opportunities. TasselTurn’s educational planning and coaching platform provides overlooked and under-supported students experiencing instability through housing insecurity and foster care-involvement (PIONEERS) a sense of belonging. Less like homework and more like personal mentoring in your pocket, TasselTurn rewards students for engaging with education coaches, requesting tutoring, accessing skill-building college prep content, and achieving competency- based goals.
