Located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, City Elementary (a 501c3 organization) is a school tailored to students with diverse learning and developmental needs. Our classrooms are structured to provide small group instruction for children on the autism spectrum, those with significant attentional issues, and those with sensory differences.
City Elementary provides a rigorous academic education while simultaneously encouraging regulation, social engagement, and positive peer interactions. Our model is rooted in empirically validated principles of progressive education with an emphasis on multi-modal, hands-on, child-centered, and project-based learning.
