IKUS Life Enrichment Services helps individuals with disabilities to discover their potential, experience greater freedom, learn new skills, and have fun in a safe environment. Ultimately, we give clients the tools they need to make every day another best day.
IKUS provides a diverse array of clients with a broad continuum of care that includes recreation, supported employment, skill building, community living support, meaningful relationships, and more. Through our person-centered approach, clients are empowered to make independent choices that will enrich their lives.
Indian Trails Camp: Through summer camps, respites, and day camps, Indian Trails Camp brings adaptive recreation to campers in a safe, barrier-free environment. Camp allows individuals with disabilities to participate in a wide range of activities, including ropes challenges, arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing, archery, music, drama, dances, hiking, talent shows, nature studies, and more. Campers experience empowering fun and friendship while families and caregivers are afforded some much-needed rest. What’s not to love?
Supported Employment: This program aims to help individuals with disabilities find gainful employment in the community. Through assistance with job creation, interviewing techniques, and social workplace skills, IKUS empowers clients to increase their independence and economic self-sufficiency. While some training takes place at Indian Trails Camp, most of the program involves hands-on experiences at various community workforce settings.
Skill Building: IKUS offers a community integrated skill building program that can be customized to fit each client’s needs. Working from the goals in an individual’s Person-Centered Plan, we assist clients in maintaining and increasing their independence and economic self-sufficiency. Through preferred activities, sensory exercises, interactions with preferred individuals, taking breaks from stimulating environments, and close cooperation with parents and guardians, IKUS helps clients develop vocational, safety, leisure, relationship, and leadership skills that will increase their independence and enrich their lives.
Community Living Support: This program encourages personal self-sufficiency and independence through community inclusion and participation. IKUS team members assist children and adults in their homes or community settings. This service includes assisting, reminding, observing, guiding, and/or training in a wide variety of essential activities, from meal preparation and laundry to money management and transportation.
