ReThink Media is a unique, nonprofit organization that places media and communications at the center of our movement building agenda. We strengthen the collaborative media and communications capacity of state and national advocacy groups; increase the “voice share” of their spokespeople; and provide in-depth media, messaging, and opinion research to inform movement strategy. Read more about our values.
We focus on long-term engagement with our advocacy partners and with the issues we take on—all driven by a belief that the stronger the groups are across an issue sector and the tighter their collaboration, the more likely they are to win real and lasting policy victories. At present, ReThink works in three distinct yet interconnected issue areas: the protection of civil rights; strengthening our democracy; and achieving a more constructive foreign and national security policy.
The Research & Analysis Team analyzes media coverage of our issues, conducts message testing and public opinion research, tracks public polling, and manages data about our programs’ impact.
The Research & Analysis intern will report to the Associate Director of Research & Analysis and work closely with other staff. You will be expected to attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with staff at every level of the organization.
Ideal candidates will be current or recent graduate students, or advanced undergraduates (third-year or later) with research and analysis skills and an interest in advocacy work.
Desired but not required
This internship will be remote and part-time (12-16 hours per week), for a three-month term. The specific schedule is negotiable based on the intern’s course schedule. The starting wage for this position is $18.67 per hour. We are also open to working with students and professors to craft projects for credit.
We are moving quickly to fill this position and are assessing candidates on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply by January 7, 2025. This position is open until filled.
