    Position Summary

    As a People, Culture, and Operations Intern at MADRE, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the People & Culture team to support various aspects of the organization's human resource functions and contribute to fostering an equitable and inclusive work environment for all employees. You will collaborate with the Senior Director of People & Culture and the Director of People Operations in accordance with MADRE's policies and practices.

    Position Description

    As the People, Culture, & Operations Intern at MADRE, you will have the unique and enriching opportunity to immerse yourself in a diverse range of experiences that encompass administration, operations, and culture management within the context of our dynamic non-profit organization. This internship offers a comprehensive view into the inner workings of our fast-paced and innovative organization, providing you with invaluable insights into the heart of our mission. Throughout your internship, you will collaborate closely with the dedicated members of our People, Culture, and Operations team, actively contributing to the enhancement of the employee experience, team cohesion, and the seamless execution of administrative tasks. This role is more than just an internship; it's a gateway to hands-on learning and personal growth, offering you the chance to be a part of our mission-driven journey to support human rights globally while supporting People, Culture, & Operations functions.

    Core Responsibilities

    Administration:

    • Assist with data entry, file management, and document organization.
    • Help maintain and update employee records.
    • Support with organizing and cleaning up operational processes and workflows.

    Operations

    • Collaborate with the team to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Contribute to the planning and execution of organization-wide initiatives.
    • Assist in project management tasks, including tracking project milestones and deliverables.
    • Assist in ensuring that MADRE's policies and practices align with best practices in human resources and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

    Culture:

    • Participate in culture-related projects and activities to foster a positive work environment.
    • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to assist in the development and implementation of strategies that promote equity and inclusion in the workplace.
    • Help organize team-building events, workshops, and activities that align with MADRE's mission.
    • Attend all-staff meetings as needed, contributing to discussions and facilitating team interactions.
    • Work on building positive relationships with employees across the organization, helping to create an environment that values diversity and inclusion.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student in a related field looking to gain valuable experience in People and Culture, Operations, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
    • Enthusiasm for contributing to a positive workplace culture.
    • Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive issues and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding Human Resources/People and culture management on a global stage.

    Working Conditions:

    This role requires eligibility to work in the United States. This internship is remote with a preference to candidates on the East Coast.

    Compensation

    Stipend: $3,600

    Duration: 12 weeks - Please note that this internship requires a firm 12-week commitment that is non-negotiable.

    Minimum hours/week: 15 hours (This comes to a minimum hourly rate of $20/hour.)

    Working Conditions:

    This role requires eligibility to work in the United States. This internship is remote with a preference to candidates on the East Coast.
