    Summary

Art in Tanzania promotes sustainable solutions for local communities. We educate individuals about household solar options, composting, climate change, and environmental risks.

    Details

Art in Tanzania has been thriving since 1996. Our community placements attract around 250 participants annually. Our vision is to offer students hands-on experience in developing African communities.

Alongside your studies, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in African culture, life, and stunning nature and wildlife.

Tanzanian communities need more substantial economic resources to embrace environmentally friendly household solutions.

Currently, less than 50% of households have access to toilets. Interns are creating sustainable and affordable solutions, such as dry toilets for homes and schools.

We promote household solutions such as water purification, composting, sourcing sustainable cooking heat, and establishing tree and bamboo nurseries.

In Tanzania, it is essential to train communities to understand the effects of climate change and disaster risks and how to manage them.

Sustainable wildlife safaris and other tourism operations are essential funding sources for NGOs.

Academic-level team leaders supervise your daily work. We also monitor your progress through a weekly planning and reporting system to support your success in your placement work.

The internship's outcome is learning how to apply one's education in developing countries with limited resources and experience.

Moreover, interns work in teams with international students and volunteers to better understand the opportunities in a rapidly growing economy.

Work hours vary from 6 to 8 hours daily, Monday through Friday.

The program is ongoing, meaning the start dates are flexible. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests, enhancing our daily work with the communities.

Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility efforts.

The start and end dates are flexible because all programs are ongoing, with many in operation since 1996.

You and your friends can enjoy affordable, eco-friendly safaris and tours.

We typically host between 15 and 40 students from around the globe, representing over 400 universities with which we collaborate and a wide range of professions.

The Benefits and Perks are as follows:

Accommodation and meals are considered personal expenses. For weeks 1 to 13, EUR 175 per week covers accommodation with breakfast and dinner, access to the student compound facilities, and professional tutoring. From week 14 onward, the cost is EUR 125 per week.

The airport transfer is priced at EUR 60 for a one-way trip and is classified as a personal expense.

A charity immigration visa costs USD 50 and is considered a personal expense. A multiple-entry visa valid for less than 12 months costs USD 250.

Although modest, we offer interns a monthly stipend of USD 50, twice Tanzania's national minimum wage.

    Flights are considered personal expenses.

Local transportation, if it exists, is a personal expense.
