International Cooperation Internship

As an International Cooperation Intern at Tierra Techo Trabajo, you will play a crucial role in expanding our network of partners involved in advocacy and international cooperation. You will work closely with our team to identify potential collaborators, engage with stakeholders, and support the development of strategic partnerships. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international cooperation, advocacy, and partnership management within a renowned organisation.

Tierra Techo Trabajo is actively involved in the Youth for Exchange Program, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering young people through international exchanges and cross-cultural experiences. By participating in this program, we provide youth with opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogues, develop leadership skills, and foster global citizenship. Our involvement underscores our commitment to nurturing the next generation of advocates for social justice and equality, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive positive change in their communities and beyond. Through collaborative projects and intercultural learning, we aim to build a network of young leaders dedicated to creating a more inclusive and sustainable world.

Responsibilities:

• Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct research to identify potential partners, including NGOs, governmental agencies, and international organisations.
  • Analyse the alignment of potential partners’ missions and goals with those of Tierra Techo Trabajo.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Assist in the preparation of communication materials and outreach strategies.
  • Facilitate initial contact and follow-up with potential partners.
• Partnership Development:
  • Support the development and drafting of partnership proposals and agreements.
  • Collaborate with the team to organise meetings, workshops, and events with partners.
• Advocacy Support:
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns.
  • Assist in drafting policy briefs, reports, and other advocacy documents.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain and update databases of partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings and preparing documentation.

Skills and Experience Acquired:

• Research and Analytical Skills:
  • Gain proficiency in conducting targeted research and analysing data relevant to international cooperation and advocacy.
  • Develop the ability to assess the compatibility of potential partners.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Enhance your communication skills through drafting proposals, outreach materials, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Build interpersonal skills by collaborating with a team and engaging with external partners.
• Project Management:
  • Acquire project management experience by supporting the organisation and coordination of advocacy campaigns and partnership initiatives.
  • Learn to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of International Cooperation:
  • Deepen your knowledge of international cooperation, advocacy strategies, and the functioning of NGOs and international organisations.
  • Gain insight into policy development and the role of advocacy in achieving social justice.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of Italian is a plus).
• Demonstrated interest in international cooperation, advocacy, and social justice.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
