    The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is seeking highly qualified applicants for an Oslo Freedom Forum Research internship. The internship would last from January to May 2025. The intern would ideally commit to at least 20 hours per week (exact work schedule to be negotiated) and be available to work from our New York office a few days per week, as well as potentially travel to Oslo, Norway in late May.

    About the Position

    The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Oslo Freedom Forum Research Intern. This intern will assist HRF’s Policy and Programs teams in a variety of tasks in preparation for the forum.

    This position is perfect for someone looking to gain a broad range of experience in policy research, event planning, programming, production, and communications. The candidate must be able to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Assisting with drafting content for OFF materials, such as the program book, speaker slides, promotional materials, etc.
    • Vetting and conducting research on potential OFF speakers and attendees and tracking attendee invitations
    • Assisting with project management by organizing information, tracking deliverables, and ensuring deadlines are met
    • Identifying timely opportunities that align with the conference theme, and making recommendations for incorporating new, creative ideas into OFF programming
    • Sourcing relevant information and photos for OFF materials
    • Liaising with various teams and event stakeholders
    • Assisting members of the Policy and Programs teams with administrative tasks and copy-editing, as necessary
    • Helping coordinate event logistics and production on-the-ground, where relevant

    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize the most important ones
    • High sense of urgency and a positive, can-do attitude
    • A strong affinity for HRF’s mission and values
    • Experience in event planning and/or communications is useful, but not required
    • Ability to work from the New York office is preferred
    • Ability to travel internationally
    • A sense of humor!
