About IWF
The International Women’s Forum (IWF), founded in 1974, is a network of over 8,200 of the most accomplished women leaders in 35 countries. IWF members are women of significant achievement across all sectors, beliefs, and backgrounds who support each other’s professional and personal success. They are inspirational and aspirational leaders who are united in our mission of advancing women’s leadership.
How the Model Works
IWF is an invitation-only network of women leaders. Outstanding women leaders are nominated to be members of local Forums because they are recognized by their peers for achievement, impact and influence in their fields and demonstrated support of our mission.
IWF supports its leadership and membership in a number of ways, always working to create connections locally and globally. These efforts include the convening of local Forum presidents and other local leaders in person and virtually, new member and new president orientations, member-organized special interest groups in person convenings as well as virtual meetings and through chat rooms, and Forum to Forum initiatives.
IWF’s greatest strength is its global community, and we are focused on ensuring that it is vibrant and growing.
Annual Activities
IWF runs two annual conferences, the World Leadership Conference and Cornerstone Conference. IWF Conferences feature some of the most authoritative and trendsetting voices on issues essential to global leaders in a changing world. The world-class content rivals that found at Davos and the Aspen Institute and is designed to inform leaders’ decision-making as they lead their organizations.
A key part of conferences includes Leadership Showcases, which shine a light on accomplished women leaders across nations, professions, and generations. The women we highlight in our awards programs—the International Hall of Fame, Ideas Remaking the World, and Women Who Make a Difference—contribute to change on both global and local levels. Women Who Make a Difference awards salute members nominated by their Forums for the tremendous accomplishments and contributions they’ve made to their communities and the world. Ideas Remaking the World showcases IWF’s own innovators, instigators, and disruptors. These women leverage compelling concepts, extraordinary business propositions, and transformational technologies to build a better world.
