About H.O.P.E. Baltimore
Helping Oppressed People Excel (H.O.P.E.) Baltimore is a community-driven organization led by individuals who have personally navigated the challenges of reentry. We empower returning citizens by providing mentorship, resources, and support to foster successful and permanent reintegration. H.O.P.E. members receive guidance from peer mentors, access to essential resources, transportation assistance, and invitations to mentoring and support dinners. The core of H.O.P.E. is a weekly drop-in meeting where returning citizens talk through challenges and opportunities, supported by program staff who have themselves experienced similar challenges. Meetings become the springboard for further interaction and possible case management.
H.O.P.E. Baltimore is a fiscally sponsored project, meaning our fiscal sponsor manages finances, HR, and compliance. As the legal entity, the fiscal sponsor is also the official employer of H.O.P.E. Baltimore’s staff.
