Rebuilding Alliance was founded in 2003 as a non-profit charitable organization in the State of California. Since registering, Rebuilding Alliance has been working with coalitions of people and groups around the world to provide humanitarian aid to war-torn neighborhoods, and to promote citizen and diplomatic engagement worldwide to make them safe through advocacy, education, and support. At present in Gaza, we are serving over 20,000 hot meals daily in Gaza.

Job Description:

The Rebuilding Alliance is looking to re-establish our fair trade sales initiative, focused on selling amazing organic extra-virgin olive oil (two varieties) and za'atar, fair trade from Palestine. We are looking for a salesperson who will schedule and hold tasting events at demo tables. The Fair Trade Coordinator will reconnect with Bay Area retail stores to create good buzz for our products and our work. Proceeds from selling olive oil and za'atar goes back to the farmers in Palestine and to supporting Rebuilding Alliance’s good work bringing Israelis and Palestinians together to rebuild Palestinian homes, schools and playgrounds. You will work closely with the Fundraising Table Coordinator.

Currently, we have a fundraising table every Friday. The Fair Trade Coordinator will facilitate fair trade sales at a variety of places of worship in the Bay Area. We are looking to boost fair trade sales during Easter and Passover. The Coordinator will improve the workflow every Friday to ensure a seamless fundraising table is held. This may include working with the Social Media Team and the Executive Director to finalize print materials and any digital media on display, picking up print materials, and depositing table donations at the bank. The coordinator will recruit volunteers to grow the initiative, expanding to have multiple tables at once.

The goal of this role is to grow Rebuilding Alliance’s fundraising tables and fair trade sales at any of the many mosques, synagogues, churches, and other places of worship in the Bay Area, specifically during the Easter and Passover season.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Interest in peace and justice, fair trade, good health.
• Computer/tech savvy; familiar with Square, Asana, Google Suite
• Can commit to 8 hours per week including some Saturdays
• Have a personable and interactive style
• Love olive oil and Mediterranean food products
• Be friendly
• Be willing and able to lift up to 12lbs
• Keep demo table tidy
• Retail sales experience
• Ability to drive and commute to various locations around the Bay area
• Marketing experience is a plus, especially in the grocery and food products industry.
• Has an eye for detail and aesthetics
• Bonus: Arabic-speaking
