The McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research at New York University is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices. One of the mission-driven projects of the McSilver Institute is the YouthACT Technical Assistance Center (YTAC), which provides training and technical assistance to Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams across New York State. Youth ACT teams serve youth and families with significant mental health needs through a community-based service model.

This includes helping teams understand core Youth ACT principles and practices and general best practice areas. Examples include trauma- and resilience-informed care, motivational interviewing, engagement best practices, family-driven care, youth-guided care, vocational support, supervision, culturally-responsive services, and other core components of the model.

NYU McSilver is seeking to hire a motivated individual to serve as the full-time Senior Program Associate for YTAC. • Assist in promoting the breadth and depth of training offerings.
    • Research helpful topics and coordinate with potential partners to develop training offerings.
    • Collaborate with team members to facilitate Youth ACT-specific consultation and implementation support calls and to develop training initiatives, tools, and self-learning courses based on internal and external feedback.
    • Attend state-wide training and meetings as needed.
    • Participate in regular supervision for support, performance evaluation, and professional development.
    • Engage in ongoing learning to continuously build a supportive knowledge base.
