Organizational Overview:
Founded in 2000, the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault’s mission is to prevent sexual violence and reduce the harm it causes through education, research, and advocacy.
The Alliance works closely with the city’s rape crisis programs, victim service providers, and hospitals, District Attorney’s Offices, New York Police Department, court officials and city leaders to develop and implement best practices and policies, raise public awareness, and create sustainable change for survivors.Through training, advocacy and research, the Alliance has been an active force in fighting for recognition of the magnitude of the problem of sexual violence in New York City (NYC).
Position Overview:
The Statewide EIE TTA Senior Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for EIE-funded providers across New York State, ensuring they receive high-quality training, support, and technical assistance. This role manages provider relationships, organizes statewide convenings, oversees the EIE website, and chairs the Campus Collaborative Committee. The position works closely with OPDV to ensure compliance and alignment with state policies.
Specific responsibilities inherent to the position include:
- Required to attend in-person staff meetings and events. (Accommodations will be considered for applicants outside of the NYC metro area)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EIE providers statewide.
- Conduct one-on-one check-ins and quarterly onboarding sessions for providers.
- Conduct needs assessment as needed
- Develop and facilitate training on trauma-informed services, prevention strategies, and policy compliance (Title IX, EIE).
- Provide customized technical assistance, including site visits and consultations.
- Organize the EiE Annual Convening, ensuring engaging and impactful programming.
- Lead quarterly regional meetings to foster collaboration among EIE providers.
- Chair the Campus Collaborative Committee, a group designed to infuse diverse perspectives and lived experiences into the EIE TTA Center’s work. This committee will:
- Play a critical role in guiding the restart of the EIE TTA Center.
- Help refine training to better address the needs of students and stakeholders.
- Shape the EiE Annual Convening to ensure inclusivity and effectiveness.
- Oversee the EIE website, ensuring accurate, accessible resources.
- Develop and maintain toolkits, fact sheets, and training materials.
- Distribute quarterly newsletters to share updates, best practices, and relevant resources with EIE providers.
- Work with OPDV to align initiatives and inform policy development.
- Represent the Alliance in statewide task forces and coalitions focused on campus sexual violence prevention.
- Track and report training outcomes, provider engagement, and program impact.
- Assist in grant reporting and proposal development.
- Assist with other program activities as needed and collaborate with Alliance staff on shared program goals.
- Support interns as necessary;
- Generate content and share resource and information for EiE TTA Center website and contribute to the Alliance's IG content;
- Support the policy/advocacy work of the Alliance;
- Work closely with the Director of Programs and Director of Operations to manage contractors/ consultants/interns/volunteer' contracts and monitor their programming and deliverables on all prevention related grants;
- Directly work with the Director of Operations to manage program budget;
- Manage/track/maintain all program related supplies and ensure they are utilized per program contract requirements/guidelines;
- Continually work to identify opportunities for professional development;
- Any other duty or task outside of this job description will contribute to the Alliance’s organizational health and success.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- 5+ years of experience working in the field of sexual violence, with a focus on either: public health, social justice, survivor advocacy, community organizing, and/or prevention;
- Experience in developing and facilitating trauma-informed, evidence-based, gender-based violence and interpersonal violence and prevention curriculum to diverse professionals and audiences;
- Experience working in or with higher education settings;
- Demonstrable skills in program design, implementation and project management; as well as ability to advance programs from planning to execution;
- Knowledge of issues, policies and best practices in sexual violence response and prevention
- Knowledge of Title IX, Enough is Enough and campus sexual assault;
- Excellent facilitation, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with program, government, and funding partners;
- Sensitivity to the impact of sexual violence in diverse communities and the ability to articulate these concerns to various stakeholders in a sensitive and respectful manner;
- Strong Partnership-building skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite;
- Knowledgeable in designing platforms such as Canva to create outward facing communication, information sharing and/or presentations;
- Ability to create and track a program budget to fit the needs of the program;
- Experience in collecting and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data to capture the program’s successes and challenges for grant reporting;
- Experience in developing, facilitating and evaluating violence prevention and response programming;
- Dedication to using a social justice, anti-oppression, anti-racist framework to carry out work;
- Commitment to engaging, working with and supporting people from a diversity of backgrounds, identities and perspectives;
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree with a focus in public health, social work, mental health, gender studies, sociology or related field;
- Certified rape crisis counselor in compliance with New York State Department of Health.
- Experience serving as a sexual assault advocate (i.e. rape crisis counselor) including survivor-facing service delivery (i.e. telephone support, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy and hospital-based medical advocacy);
- Understanding of criminal justice, hospital, and institutional systems as they interact with diverse sexual assault survivors.
- Preference will be given to candidates trained in one or more evidence-informed sexual violence prevention curriculum and/or those with significant policy change experience;
- Experience in conducting program evaluation;
- Experience creating needs assessments and evaluations and using them to design and implement programs and strategic plans;
Compensation:
- Compensation for this position is $78,000
