    Descripción

    The program director (PD) is Georgia’s Friend’s (GF’s) leading voice on recovery residence best practices and programs. The PD is an addiction, recovery, and social services expert who works closely with the organization’s executive director and board in defining a strategic path for organization’s program evolution. The PD is an innovative, creative thinker whose goal is to position GF to support the recovery community today and in the future, in response to and in anticipation of social, legislative, and economic developments. The PD focuses on continuous innovation and helping GF become the go-to voice of recovery support in central Virginia and helps position the organization to provide solutions that make a measurable impact on the addiction crisis in our community.

    The PD ensures that GF’s recovery programs and services are being implemented in an effective, fair, compliant, and inclusive way. The PD serves as an ambassador of the organization to the community and is a role model who inspires and motivates the women we serve and the greater organization – board, staff, and volunteers.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES

    • Program Strategy & Development –

    Ensures that GF is delivering the highest level of care based on VARR and NARR best practices and beyond. Researches best practices and collaborates with other successful program operators to identify effective ways to enhance our program. Is knowledgeable of legislation that impacts the recovery community and makes related recommendations to directors. Regularly reviews the Resident Handbook and updates it to meet the evolving needs of our community.

    • Program Management –

    Is the in-house expert for all program-related data, needs, and ideas regarding best practices within the program’s organization, implementation, and support. Ensures that we are meeting VARR requirements for the use of ARMS and that we are leveraging ARMS data. Supervises, develops, and supports the recovery residence manager (RRM) and all intern and PRS positions to ensure that they are meeting their personal and organizational goals and upholding GF’s reputation. Supports direct reports in planning, coordinating, and implementing resident activities, day programming, and meetings. Tracks and monitors program expenses and provides expense analysis for grant writing and financial reporting.

    • Recovery Services Case Management –

    Is the leading resource supporting residents in developing and engaging with their individualized recovery plans and fostering a positive group-living environment. Interviews applicants, supports intakes, develops/evaluates recovery and transition plans, provides accountability regarding program rules, models effective problem-solving, ensures that residents have access to support services, and supports drug test and medication management protocols in the RRM’s absence.

    • Organizational Leadership –

    Leads and supports GF by participating on a variety of committees and task forces through servant leadership.

    • Referral Outreach –

    Develops and maintains relationships with referring partners through proactive, planned outreach. Develops programs that educate them about our services and program availability.

    EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

    • Post-secondary training/education, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience is required
    • 5 years of professional experience working in the addiction and recovery and/or human services fields is required
    • Experience and/or training in supervision, mentoring, management and leadership is required
    • CPRS certification or qualification and willingness to become one is required
    • Training in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention is required
    • Understanding of the criminal justice system as it applies to individuals with SUDs, experience working in a nonprofit organization, and familiarity with financial analysis and reporting are pluses

    • Is comfortable with technology and embraces learning new software

    POSITION TYPE: Salaried, non-exempt

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    • 40 hours per week with schedule to be determined
    • Position includes on-call availability overnight and on the weekend, one week at a time, alternating weeks with the RPM
