    The National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) is searching for our next Program Manager. NQAPIA’s Program Manager engages our constituents through regular convenings, trainings, and workshops. In this newly created role, the Program Manager will hold primary responsibility for engaging local NQAPIA affiliated groups and growing the network by developing and maintaining a rotating schedule of engagement opportunities. The Program Manager will be a network weaver, identifying needs based on individual interests, growing trends across the community and states, and fostering deeper political and social engagement across NQAPIA's affiliated groups. They will convene LGBTQ+ AANHPI individuals and groups to develop the leadership of program participants to identify issues within their communities, establish plans to act on those issues, and evaluate the successes and areas for improvement.

    Compensación

    Benefits include:

    • Gold level UHC insurance, inclusive of gender-affirming healthcare
    • Last week of the calendar year office closure (December 25 - January 1)
    • 8 paid holidays (Lunar New Year, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteeenth, US Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day Following Thanksgiving)
    • 2 floating holidays
    • Unlimited sick days (Employees are expected to track sick days taken within Gusto)
    • Birthday off
    • 18 vacation/personal days per calendar year
    • 35 hour workweek (8 hour days with 1 hour break as standard)
    • Core working hours of 9am-12pm PT/11am-2pm CT/12-3pm ET, meaning most internal meetings and communications will happen during these hours

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    Community Engagement -

    • Develop and maintain regular touchpoints with local NQAPIA-affiliated groups to build and strengthen relationships.
    • Collaborate with network members to assess community needs and interests.
    • Collaborate with Communications and Development Manager to produce content that addresses trends in the community, amplifying issues that impact LGBTQ+ AANHPIs.

    Trainings and Workshops -

    • Individual Trainings
      • Organize and facilitate one-off trainings for local and regional groups that are members of the NQAPIA network alliance, focusing on political education, leadership, and capacity-building skills.
      • Develop training curricula that reflect current issues affecting LGBTQ+ AANHPI communities and align with network priorities.
    • External Workshops
      • Coordinate external workshop opportunities, overseeing logistics, curriculum, and promotion.
    • Calendar maintenance of internal and external workshops, training events, and national conferences (Creating Change, Facing Race, etc)

    Convenings - NQAPIA manages a robust convening calendar to develop the leadership development, organizational development, and build the capacity of grassroots organizations and individuals. The Manager will:

    • Lead planning and coordination of NQAPIA convenings, including the National Convergence, Regional Summits, Leadership Summits, and community receptions.
    • Oversee convening logistics, including agenda development, outreach, and event setup, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Coordinate post-event evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement, aligning with future goals for network engagement.
    • The potential calendar for convenings may include:
      • National Convergence - one convergence every 3 years
      • Regional Summits - 2-3 annually
      • Leadership Summits - one annually
      • Community Receptions - 3-5 annually

    Team Engagement -

    • Work closely with the departmental Director to integrate convening, training, and engagement plans into the overall departmental strategy.
    • Participate in cross-departmental coordination, namely with the Communications and Development Manager, to further the program department’s goals.
    • Prepare updates and reports for the Director, supporting the vision for the department and providing insights on community engagement progress.
    • Provide input to the departmental Director to develop annual goals and work plans.
    • Contribute resources to team members when appropriate to share out with our network.
    • Provide quarterly written Program departmental updates to the departmental Director.

    SALARY: $70-85K

    What to Expect from the Process

    • Interested applicants are invited to submit a resume and brief (1 page) cover letter by December 9, 2024.
    • Applicants invited to a first round interview will meet with NQAPIA’s Interim ED for an initial interview.
    • Applicants invited to a second round interview will also be asked to submit a writing sample, sharing a project plan they have implemented previously. These applicants will meet with NQAPIA’s Director of Advocacy and Organizing and the Manager of Comms & Development.
    • Two finalists will be invited to share 2-3 references.
    • A final offer will be made thereafter.
    • NQAPIA intends to have their Program Manager start in their role during February 2025.
