Clinical/Program Director, Boston Area Programs
We are looking for a dynamic practitioner with a passion for recovery and an unwavering belief in people’s healing ability to join our dedicated team as Gould Farm’s Clinical/Program Director of the Boston Area Programs (BAP). The Clinical/Program Director liaises with the Farm Clinical Team to ensure the smooth transition of Farm guests on their recovery journey toward greater independence. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Clinical/Program Director is responsible for the daily operations, leadership, and clinical support of the BAP residential and non-residential programs.
The Clinical/Program Director supervises BAP staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services that are trauma-informed and client-centered within a supportive healing environment. The Clinical/Program Director promotes the values and spirit of Gould Farm by embodying a strengths-based recovery model and a commitment to anti-oppression work, and an honoring of differences including LGBTQIA+, race, ethnicity, socio-economic, and neurodivergence. The Clinical/Program Director nurtures the BAP through role modeling self-care, wellness awareness, and the therapeutic value of intentional community participation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Programmatic Oversight
Serve as a member of the senior leadership team providing strategic direction and leadership for the BAP, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, values, and strategic plans.
Collaborate with and support the Assistant Program Director in the ongoing management of house maintenance and household operations.
Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of BAP therapeutic activities and wellness groups.
Ability to work/be on-call evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/necessary.
Leadership in fostering the therapeutic community milieu including participation in weekly community dinner/meeting, and various meals, activities and holiday celebrations.
Administrative & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all Department of Mental Health (DMH) regulations, including clinical and programmatic policies, procedures, and documentation to meet licensing standards.
Serve as the key liaison for internal and external licensing visits and program evaluation efforts.
Oversee documentation and record-keeping processes to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Responsible to develop and oversee the BAP budget, ensuring timely financial reporting and interfacing with the Accounting Dept re: submission of invoices and receipts in collaboration with the Assistant Program Director.
Coordinate staff schedules with the Assistant Program Director.
Clinical Leadership
Collaborate with the BAP team to design and implement individualized recovery plans in
partnership with program participants, their psychotherapists and family partners.
Monitor, evaluate and adjust clinical interventions to optimize effectiveness and outcomes.
Integrate advancements in mental health and substance use treatment into clinical practices.
Provide leadership and support for crisis intervention and management as needed.
Facilitate critical incident reviews and staff debriefings in the event of a crisis or emergency.
Collaborate with the Admissions Director re: direct admissions decisions, including reviewing records, interviewing applicants and their families.
Liaise with family partners from admission through discharge; co-facilitate family meetings.
Facilitate and support staff in interface with psychiatrists, therapists, and other external supports (inc. vocational, educational, benefits) to ensure community integration.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with referring agencies, community organizations/providers, neighbors, etc.; represent the organization at professional events.
Team Management and Development
Work in collaboration with the Human Resources Director to hire, train, onboard, and develop a diverse team.
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication, including facilitating weekly Staff and Clinical meetings.
Provide regular supervision, feedback, and performance evaluations to staff members, promoting their continued skill development and professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree and current licensure in Social Work or Counseling.
Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience and program administration.
Experienced leader/manager, demonstrating the ability to effectively supervise and mentor staff.
Broad knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, IFS, MBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic interventions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build warm rapport and establish collaborative relationships with program participants, staff, and family partners.
Knowledge of regulatory standards, best practices, and electronic health records with a commitment to quality improvement.

Compensation: Salary range $70,000 to $80,000 with a great benefits package including medical insurance (employer pays 85% of premiums and up to 100% of deductible), dental/vision/life insurance (employer pays 100%), generous Paid Time Off (PTO includes 5 weeks of vacation and holidays the first two years and 6 weeks thereafter), generous sick time accrual, 401K.
