Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Preschool Teacher for our Spanish Immersion Class. The ideal candidate will lead the Spanish language program for preschoolers, fostering an engaging, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports our Montessori-inspired approach and aligns with IB philosophy.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a culturally responsive, inquiry-based curriculum that supports Spanish language immersion and aligns with early childhood learning standards and IB philosophy.
• Lead engaging and immersive daily lessons that promote language acquisition, critical thinking, and social-emotional development.
• Collaborate with the preschool team to create thematic, hands-on learning experiences that cater to children's needs, interests, and developmental stages.
• Foster a nurturing classroom environment that celebrates diversity, encourages exploration, and supports the holistic development of each child.
• Act as a mentor and guide for assistant teachers, providing instructional leadership, coaching, and support to ensure best teaching practices.
• Coordinate with the school’s leadership team to align curriculum goals and contribute to strategic initiatives as part of our journey toward IB accreditation.
• Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress, classroom activities, and strategies for supporting language development at home.
• Stay informed about Department of Health regulations and ensure classroom compliance with all safety and health standards.
• Plan and facilitate enrichment programs and activities that complement the core curriculum and promote language immersion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with a focus on curriculum development and language immersion.
• Proficiency in Spanish (native) and strong English communication skills.
• Experience with Montessori education is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining a structured and engaging learning environment.
• Familiarity with the IB learner profile attributes and principles of inquiry-based, international-minded education.
