POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager of the Economic Mobility (EM) team plays a critical operational and strategic support role, coordinating within and across New Profit’s teams, and managing the operations of EM workstreams. Given a recent influx of capital to support the growth of New Profit’s EM portfolio, the EM Manager plays a critical role working in partnership with the Portfolio team, especially the central Investment Selection team, on the execution of investment selection cycles for Build and Catalyze. This engagement will range from an advisory role to a lead operational role, depending on the cycle. Through New Profit’s Catalyze and Build support models, social entrepreneurs are selected for unrestricted grant funding, learning communities, strategic advising and coaching, and robust technical assistance from New Profit’s most senior partners.
The EM Manager will support investment selection screening and diligence processes and work with deal partners focused on EM. The Manager will cultivate and support the dissemination of insights on EM trends through engagement with portfolio organizations, with the Support & Learn team, with the Measure & Evaluation team, and with field leaders.
This role sits on a lean and highly collaborative team and will be the second dedicated member of the Economic Mobility team. Currently, much of the work is accomplished through strong cross-functional relationships and adaptive coordination across the organization. The Manager will be joining a culture that values initiative, relational strength, and flexibility, with an aspiration to further integrate the EM team’s work into New Profit’s broader portfolio and field-building strategies. This is a key opportunity to shape how the EM strategy is translated across internal and external stakeholders.
