    Development (Fundraising) Assistant

    The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers, seeks a full-time Development Assistant to join its Development (Fundraising) team. This position will report to the Managing Director for Development.

    The Development Assistant will provide support to the overall department. Responsibilities include managing payment requests and processing; invoice creation; gift acknowledgments; gift and payment data tracking; assisting with grant documents; coordinating Development and program meetings; coordinating large donor mailing efforts; managing and updating as needed the inventory of materials for Development meetings and visits, including donor and prospect biographies; and arranging travel and preparing expense reports.

    The position requires one to two years of experience, preferably with fundraising and/or development. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess excellent organization and communication skills. The ability to manage and meet deadlines is essential as is the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be flexible towards changing priorities. Experience working with Word, Excel, and database software systems is required. 

    The approximate salary range for this position is $50,000 - $53,000, depending on experience. Located in Dupont Circle in Washington, DC, we offer an outstanding benefits package including health insurance. This is not a virtual position. Carnegie employees are required to work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and generally can work from home Mondays and Fridays.
