We are looking for an External Affairs Associate to join our multi-disciplinary External Affairs team in Washington. The incumbent will report to the Senior External Affairs Officer, but will work closely with the entire team, which is split between Prague and Washington, D.C., as well as with stakeholders across the organization.

    5. Drafting and fact-checking weekly reports, correspondence, and other documents as assigned
    • Coordinating travel arrangements for Washington-based External Affairs staff. This includes the preparation of travel requests, coordinating reservations and ticketing with Prague-based Travel team, booking accommodations and reserving office workspace, arranging per diem payments, and preparation of related expense reports
    • Assisting the Legal Department with various administrative tasks, including legalizing documents, preparing budget requisitions, and overseeing the logistics of RFE/RL Board meetings. (Once hired, the company will ask the incumbent to become certified as a notary public, with expenses paid by the company.)
    • Supporting public outreach and events-related activities of RFE/RL, including:
    1. Congressional outreach, public events, and historical documentation in Washington
    2. Public outreach and events-related activities in Prague as assigned.

    What we are looking for:

    • At least two years office management or executive assistant experience supporting an international team.
    • Experience with simple expense and budget management.
    • Experience in supporting high-level event planning.
    • Demonstrated ability to use standard office software, including the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Experience working in a multicultural environment
    • Has high-level, demonstrable proficiency in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills
    • Knowledge of RFE/RL’s region and experience in a public relations or communications team are a plus

Interested? We would love to hear from candidates who demonstrate the following:
