    Descripción

    Facilitators in the Stopping Sexual Exploitation (SSE) Program lead sessions designed to educate participants about the social, legal, and personal impacts of commercial sexual exploitation. The role involves engaging participants in meaningful discussions, guiding them toward accountability, and providing tools to change behaviors that perpetuate exploitation. Facilitators play a critical role in delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions aimed at reducing demand for commercial sex and supporting survivor-centered advocacy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Session Facilitation

    • Lead SSE program sessions in accordance with established curriculum, fostering a respectful and engaging environment.
    • Facilitate discussions on topics such as gender-based violence, human trafficking, toxic masculinity, and the impact of sex buying.
    • Utilize trauma-informed approaches to address participants' behavior and encourage personal accountability.
    • Adapt facilitation techniques to meet the needs of diverse participant groups.

    Participant Engagement

    • Build rapport with participants while maintaining professional boundaries.
    • Address resistance or challenging behaviors with empathy and firm guidance.
    • Provide resources and referrals to participants for additional support when needed.

    Program Support

    • Collaborate with other facilitators and the Director of Men’s Accountability to ensure the consistent delivery of program content.
    • Participate in regular team meetings to review session outcomes and discuss improvements to facilitation strategies.
    • Provide feedback on curriculum effectiveness and suggest enhancements based on participant experiences.

    Data Collection and Reporting

    • Document attendance, participation, and outcomes for each session accurately and promptly.
    • Assist in maintaining records for program evaluation and reporting requirements.
    • Support the collection of participant feedback to inform program improvements.

    Professional Development

    • Attend ongoing training and professional development sessions to stay informed about best practices in facilitation, trauma-informed care, and gender-based violence prevention.
    • Engage in reflective practice to continuously improve facilitation skills and approaches.

    Qualifications:

    • Required:
      • Experience in group facilitation, teaching, or similar roles, preferably in community education or social service settings.
      • Knowledge of issues related to gender-based violence, human trafficking, or commercial sexual exploitation.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations.
      • Commitment to trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches.
    • Preferred:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
      • Experience working with individuals involved in the justice system.
      • Familiarity with restorative justice principles and practices.
