    Descripción

    The Director of Finance and Operations of Reproductive Equity Now is responsible for driving financial, operational, and compliance excellence across our New England footprint. They lead annual budgeting and audit processes, oversee facilities and IT infrastructure, and ensure adherence to applicable state and federal laws, including lobbying and electoral work. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Director of Finance and Operations contributes to goal setting, resource allocation, and implementation of strategic priorities with an operational lens.

    Key Responsibilities

    Area #1: Oversee the Organization’s Financial Management

    • Oversee financial operations and budgeting for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4)entities, ensuring compliance with varying state and federal regulations
    • Oversee the financial aspects of grants management and direct accounting cost allocation
    • Lead annual budgeting process in collaboration with the President, Deputy Director, and Development Director
    • Support Finance Committee activities, incorporating multi-state financial considerations
    • Manage annual audit process, including supporting the Audit Committee, and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements at both state and federal levels
    • Collaborate with Investment Committee on fund stewardship across the organization's entire footprint
    • Prepare regular financial reports, develop forecasts, and implement robust cash flow management strategies
    • Support operational aspects of fundraising strategies, coordinating efforts across states
    • Review, monitor, and approve all contracts, invoices, and disbursement requests

    Area #2: Manage Organizational Operations

    • Partner with the Deputy Director and President to scale operations across multiple New England states
    • Develop and implement policies and systems for effective organizational management, considering risk and the unique needs of each state we operate in
    • Collaborate with the Deputy Director on the development of organizational HR policies, and ensure their consistent implementation
    • Oversee HR, payroll, and benefits administration, including liaising with all benefits administrators

    Area #3: Optimize Facilities and IT Infrastructure

    • Manage workspace policies, lease negotiations, and facilities management for all office locations across New England
    • Oversee IT assets, security protocols, and software services to ensure seamless operations across states
    • Optimize data usage, including but not limited to EveryAction CRM
    • Continuously evaluate organizational data practices and cyber security protocols to ensure best practices are implemented for our level of unique risk

    Area #4: Ensure Compliance Across Departments

    • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local laws in each jurisdiction where we operate, including liaising with outside legal counsel
    • Oversee systems for tracking and reporting lobbying and electoral activities, adapting to different state requirements

    Area #5: Manage Finance and Operations Staff

    • Manage operations and finance staff and provide input and feedback to staff and consultants as relevant
    • Lead and implement special projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in organizational operations, including significant experience in financial management
    • Experience in political campaigns or issue advocacy a plus
    • Knowledge of nonprofit administration. Experience in both C3/C4 organizations a plus
    • Experience in project management and CRM software. Direct experience with EveryAction a plus
    • Skill in use of G-Suite or Proficiency with office technology and information systems including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Slack, and Zoom
    • Ability to read and evaluate financial statements as well as create and manage nonprofit budgets
    • Ability to design and manage complex systems
    • Ability to work proactively and independently

    Location

    The Director of Finance and Operations is a hybrid position with New England travel required to meet the needs of the job. Applicants must be based in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or New Hampshire.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The Director of Finance and Operations is a full-time, 40-hour per week, exempt position. The salary range is $100,000 - $115,000, in addition to a generous benefits package including comp time, health and dental insurance, and a retirement account with employer match. Leadership responsibilities will be commensurate with experience.
