    Descripción

    The Director of Member & Foundation Relations will meticulously manage and serve as lead in developing fundraising strategies that target diverse revenue sources, including identifying new prospects for potential funding in support of raising FCCP (c3) and FCAF (c4) combined annual budgets.

    Core responsibilities include member recruitment and engagement, development activities, and management of a portfolio of funders, philanthropists, and philanthropic stakeholders. The responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

    MEMBER & FOUNDATION RELATIONS (75%)

    • Serve as the lead strategist in developing member growth, engagement, and retention strategies. Working with executive leadership, establish revenue goals and quarterly strategic objectives. Leverage deep knowledge of the civic participation/engagement and democracy funding landscapes to identify prospective new members and opportunities to engage members.
    • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with key institutional funders and philanthropists. Develop and draft LOIs, proposals, and grant reports to prospects and/or current funders. Ensure relevant and consistent communication with philanthropic stakeholders.
    • Support executive leadership with cultivating and stewarding key relationships with funders, philanthropists, and members. Ensure timely follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Working with the program and administrative staff, manage preparation of funder/donor briefings, profiles, talking points, public remarks, presentations, and pertinent materials for internal and external meetings.
    • Collaborate with staff to oversee delivery of all member benefits and assess value of and suggest new member benefits. Curate new member onboarding experience and develop personalized communications and engagement plans for existing members.
    • Create and maintain a database of prospective members and develop conversion plans. Assess member relationships to develop personalized membership strategies. Implement a leads generation system for membership recruitment, retention, and engagement.

    SPECIAL EVENTS (15%)

    • Working with the events team, develop and execute revenue growth strategies for online and in-person events—particularly FCCP’s signature annual convening.
    • Design, develop, and execute event revenue and sponsorship activities. Responsibilities include management of all sponsor-related activities, including drafting sponsorship decks, ensuring logistics and delivery of special benefits, supporting attendee registration, and creation of run of show.
    • Participate in assessing event success and supports implementation of improvements based on analysis of attendees, members, board, and stakeholder feedback.
    • Plan small dinners, receptions, member-only, sponsor, or VIP activities, etc., as approved by leadership and coordinated with the events team.
    • Maintain detailed revenue records, files, sponsor-related information, and other required documentation for all special events.

    COMMUNICATIONS & ADMINISTRATION (10%)

    • Represent the Executive Director, when appropriate, and ensure smooth communication with the staff, Advisory Board, members, funders/donors, program partners, and other key stakeholders.
    • Working with administrative staff, coordinating executive leaderships’ calendar, travel, itineraries, meetings, priorities, and speaking engagements as it relates to prospective revenue and engagement opportunities.
    • Manage Salesforce CRM database. Ensure all communication, meetings, notes and relevant information for funders, donors and members are entered into Salesforce CRM database.
    • Provides support for key development functions, including monthly membership renewal processing, scheduling meetings with prospective members, foundation, or individual philanthropists, and all board committee meetings.
    • Draft and edit ongoing internal and external correspondence, to include providing ideas and contributions to our bi-weekly newsletter.
    • Conducts bi-weekly reconciliation of financials with fiscal sponsor. Drafting of monthly and quarterly financial reports and additional materials for quarterly board meetings.
    • Stays knowledgeable about the executive leadership’s immediate and long-term commitments and plans; identifies conflicts, flags problems for intervention and, where appropriate, independently rectifies issues.
    • Create and maintain all members and foundation-related digital files, review drafts and final documents for accuracy and grammar, including documents of a sensitive or confidential nature.
    • Other responsibilities as requested by executive leadership.

    QUALIFYING SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

    • Deep commitment to the mission of FCCP and FCAF, including our principles of equity and an inclusive democracy.
    • Minimum of 10 years of professional, multi-faceted, progressive development experience relevant to managing revenue raising activities, membership recruitment, engagement, and retention, as well as securing grant revenue and managing a diverse grant portfolio in support of the organizations’ mission and priorities.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess deep knowledge about civic participation/engagement and democracy philanthropic landscapes.
    • Must be effective, creative, flexible, organized, a stickler for the details, and have a high degree of emotional intelligence to work independently, with a team and/or with external stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced remote environment.
    • Must be proficient with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite applications.
    • Positive, customer-service-orientated attitude and sense of humor.
    • High standards of excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen effectively.
    • Ability and willingness to periodically travel, attend meetings in-person, and occasionally execute tasks during the weekend for high-priority projects.
    • Must be able to adhere to travel and/or in-person meeting requirements, procedures, and vaccination requirements.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, non-profit management, or a directly related field or the equivalent is a plus.

    COMPENSATION & LOCATION

    The salary for the role is $100,000. FCCP offers an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, paid time off, and employer-paid contribution to retirement. This is a remote position that will require periodic travel, attendance at in-person meetings, and occasional work on the weekends for high-priority projects, including our annual convening.
