    Position Overview: Sterling Community Center is seeking a dynamic new leader motivated to shine a light on the mission and impact of our organization. This role is responsible for leading our marketing and outreach efforts, while raising public awareness and engagement in Sterling programs, events, opportunities, and achievements. This role is key in developing and promoting creative marketing campaigns that inspire positive participation and engagement from our greater community.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Communications:

    • Update and maintain the website keeping all content current, relevant, inclusive, and on brand.
    • Assist departments with communications and materials including invitations, save-the-dates, e-blasts, PR, and any other tools to promote events and increase participation.
    • Act as SCC press liaison, including preparing and disseminating press releases and media alerts, photo documentation and creation/distribution of media packets.
    • Oversee management of the Stratford Community Calendar, in collaboration with SCOC and the Town.
    • Actively attend corporate and community events to increase awareness and engagement.
    • Oversee Community Engagement Coordinator while ensuring a coordinated, collaborative approach to our marketing and engagement efforts.
    • Engage with the community online with positive messaging and promotion of partners and events relevant to our mission.

    Marketing:

    • Create campaigns and initiatives for programs, services, and events with a multichannel approach; websites, email marketing, social media, and other platforms as identified.
    • Effectively utilize social media sites as digital marketing tools, in addition to proposing new avenues to increase digital engagement.
    • Monitor utilization, website analytics, and SEO optimization monthly to drive improvements and increase outreach.
    • Capture programs, events, and community happenings via photography, video, testimonials, etc.
    • Engage the marketing committee to solicit ongoing feedback from our stakeholders.

    Brand Management:

    • Design SCC brochures, program flyers, event materials, signage, and any other printed and promotional communications pieces for programs, events, and fundraising initiatives. Redesign materials as needed to stay current and relevant.
    • Ensure the organization’s facilities and spaces are welcoming, on-brand, informational, and engaging.
    • Design and coordinate purchasing of organizational assets; signage, décor, business cards, thank you notes, etc.

    Other Duties:

    • Engage in consistent evaluation of marketing efforts to assess areas of strength, necessary improvements, effectiveness, and outcomes.
    • Attend supervisory meetings and organizational staff training and meetings.
    • Support other programs, special events, initiatives as assigned.
    • Serve as an exemplary representation of SCC in the community in personal language, appearance, professionalism, and embodiment of our organizational values.

    Qualifications and Attributes:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, graphic design, communications, non-profit administration, or relevant degree.
    • Experience in a similar role whether in marketing, design, or communications.
    • Proficiency in both web and graphic design and experience/flexibility with multiple programs (i.e. Adobe CC, Canva, Photoshop, Square Space, etc).
    • Proficiency with social media networks, website maintenance, e-marketing, and media relations.
    • Strong ability to multitask, remain calm and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational and collaborative skills with excellent planning abilities.
    • Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
    • Driven to take initiative to work toward ongoing improvements and innovation, including personal and professional development.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills while embodying the Sterling voice.
    • Able to clearly articulate and promote the mission of Sterling Community Center, while building and maintaining positive relationships with; staff, volunteers, board members, participants, funders, media, and all other stakeholders.
    • A strong desire to actively engage with the community- a change-maker and positive thinker
    • A creative person who can meld the Sterling brand with their own personal aesthetic to create vibrant and professional materials.
    • Mission-driven, team-player who is passionate about working in a bustling and diverse community center environment.
    • Experience and enjoyment working with diverse populations with a customer service orientation; including a wide range of volunteers, interns, executives, donors, and community members and partners.
    • Ability to lift approximately 40 pounds of supplies and load/unload/drive SCC van to community events as needed.
    • Valid Driver’s License and approved background check.
