    Organization Overview: Our vibrant Older Adult Center helps older members of the community live life to the fullest by providing case management, support services and activities to more than 3,000 center members. Birthday, holiday parties and other social events strengthen the sense of community. Our hot lunch provides vital nutrition support at an affordable price. Our seniors are actively involved in the center, so services and activities reflect their needs and interests.

    Position Summary: Under direct supervision, performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of Older Adult Centers onsite activities; provides assistance to the staff in areas such as the meals program, food distributions, telephone reassurance, Wellness calls, friendly visiting, senior transportation, and other program activities and services; performs related work as required and assigned by Director.

    Schedule: Part time; Monday-Friday 28 hours weekly

    Hourly Rate: $16.50

    Roles, Responsibilities and Essential Duties

    • Assist facilitating program activities
    • Assist center members with accessing various activities ( including remote classes)
    • Assist with the monthly calendar of events
    • Assist with organizing and storing program supplies
    • Assist with center congregate meal service
    • Assist with data management
    • Maintain confidentiality of participant information
    • Register new members into peerplace
    • Provide shopping assistance and escort members if needed
    • Provide friendly visits
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

    • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency preferred
    • Reading and writing skills adequate to produce telephone outreach progress notes
    • Basic Computer knowledge ( email, Microsoft office)
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish/ Russian/ Chinese ) would be an asset
    • One year experience in an office, social services or geriatric settings preferred

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Dependable and reliable with good organizational ability, time management skills
    • People-oriented -- enjoying interacting with aging population
    • Able to work independently, as well as part of a team
    • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
    • Experience in social or community services preferred
    • Flexibility with schedule is required
    • Must enjoy working with senior adults and have positive attitude

    Physical Requirements

    • May require heavy lifting up to 30 pounds, including office supply, setting up tables, moving chairs, and other room set-ups for programs
    • Ability to walk a five block radius and push a shopping cart
    • Ability to stand for long hours

    • Older Adult Center (indoor/outdoor/remotely)
