    Senior Manager, Business Partnerships

    City Harvest pioneered food rescue in 1982 and, this year will collect more than 1000 million pounds of excess food to help feed the nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers struggling to put meals on their tables. Through relationships with farms, restaurants, grocers, and manufacturers, City Harvest collects nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it free of charge to 400 soup kitchens, food pantries, and other community food programs across the five boroughs.     PRIMARY PURPOSE

    The Senior Manager of Business Partnerships is a key fundraising leader who plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth and donor engagement. This external-facing role interacts with some of the organization’s largest corporate donors, managing single initiatives and multi-faceted annual campaigns. The Senior Manager oversees high-level efforts, including multi-million-dollar campaigns and partnerships for all Special Events.

    In this role, you will build and steward relationships, manage a curated portfolio, and secure corporate revenue for campaigns and sponsorships, ensuring the Business Partnerships team meets or exceeds revenue targets. Additionally, you will collaborate across departments, contributing to the team's strategic direction and overall growth.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Portfolio Management

    The Senior Manager will drive and grow a multi-million-dollar portfolio comprised of current and prospective donors, ensuring consistent cultivation and holistic engagement across City Harvest’s sponsorship opportunities. In your role you will:

    • Manage a robust portfolio of prospects and current donors, including regular cultivation, with an eye towards holistic donor engagement, across the company and City Harvest sponsorable assets.
    • Collaborate with the Director and Associate Director of Business Partnerships to develop strategies that drive fundraising growth.
    • Manage regular communication with partners and secure corporate sponsors for cause-marketing campaigns, special events, employee engagement, and large fundraising programs.
    • Work with the Director to design major sponsorship strategies and custom activations for special events.

    Donor Cultivation

    • Actively identify, cultivate, and steward prospects and donors throughout all stages of the donor lifecycle.
    • Implement best practices for donor engagement, using feedback to enhance the donor experience.
    • Drive creativity and innovation to identify new opportunities for revenue growth and long-term donor retention.

    Cross- Team Collaboration

    • Work with colleagues to develop strategies for prospect engagement, donor identification, and collateral materials creation to support fundraising outreach.
    • Foster a collaborative and mission-driven environment where teamwork, passion, and dedication are encouraged and valued.

    Campaign Management

    • Serve as the project lead on the annual Repack to Give Back campaign. The lead will oversee the planning, execution, and expansion of the event, engaging corporate donors. Key responsibilities include driving revenue growth, securing new partnerships, collaborating with internal teams to optimize resources, managing the budget, meeting financial targets, and representing Business Partnerships on cross-functional teams to align fundraising objectives.

    SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Represents Business Partnerships on cross functional work groups to support and extend the Business Partnerships team’s fundraising objectives. 
    • Collaborates and supports senior members of Business Partnerships in day-to-day management of deliverables for corporate sponsorship campaigns. 

    EXPERIENCE:

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree, plus additional related college courses, professional training, or progressively responsible work experience within a profession.

    Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or related fields. Experience working in the nonprofit sector with an emphasis on special events fundraising is a bonus.

    Related Skills or Knowledge

    • Experience securing 5-6 figure deals, including sponsorship, new annual and multi-year commitments.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with an ability to meet multiple deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to develop proposals clearly and compellingly, with a proven history of success.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to creatively uncover new opportunities to build and maintain a robust pipeline.
    • The ability to thrive in a collaborative, team environment and work independently.
    • Understanding current corporate social responsibility trends, sustainability, DEI, and communications.
    • Experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT
