    Description

    Job Title: Prospect Researcher

    Location: Hunter College, New York, NY

    Position Type: Part-Time (20 Hours a week)

    Position Overview:

    The role of Prospect Researcher in the Institutional Advancement Office provides support for the Development Staff. Researcher will assist in short term research projects to help identify new donor prospects for the College.

    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Analyzes information from in-house files, published materials and on-line computer databases to prepare written confidential profiles for prospects, both individual and corporate/foundation; update profiles as needed.
    • Provides sensitive, confidential informational reports.
    • Provides proactive research and identification of major gift prospects for cultivation and solicitation through review/analysis of publications and online resources.
    • Stays current on journals and newspapers; scan publications/news alerts for new information on prospects/potential prospects and distribute/research accordingly.
    • Provides ongoing monitoring of contact reports and inputting pertinent information into main database system.
    • Will help with providing updates for database system with relevant researched information.

    Qualifications:

    Candidates should be reliable, professional and able to work well with others. We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-starter, who can appreciate working as part of a team and possesses solid written and oral communications skills. This individual should be able to multi-task in a fast paced setting. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with good MS office skills, organizational skills, and would like to develop their research skills. Candidates should be capable listeners and be able to integrate information quickly and effectively.
