    Job Summary:

    The Director of Operations, reporting directly to the Executive Director, plays a pivotal role in ensuring EOAC's operational excellence and programmatic success. This position encompasses oversight of EOAC's facilities, maintenance, IT, and safety and security, ensuring seamless functionality and efficiency across these critical areas.

    As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Operations will foster collaboration across departments to ensure alignment with EOAC's strategic direction. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of both organizational and programmatic operations, enabling them to provide leadership and operational support that enhances the overall performance and success of the agency. The Director of Operations plays an essential role in implementing innovative solutions, optimizing internal processes, and ensuring that both administrative and programmatic operations are efficiently managed to meet the evolving needs of the Waco, Texas, community.

    Job Duties:

    Facilities and Maintenance:

      • Oversee the maintenance and operation of all EOAC facilities, ensuring they meet safety, regulatory, and operational standards across programs.
      • Develop and implement facilities management policies and protocols to ensure optimal functionality in support of EOAC's organizational needs.
      • Provide leadership to maintenance and facilities staff, coordinating their efforts across multiple programs to support successful operations.
      • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors for maintenance services, ensuring cost-effective and timely service delivery.

    General Operations and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

      • Work collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to align operational strategies with programmatic goals and organizational priorities.
      • Facilitate positive communication and relationships with various stakeholders to ensure operations support organizational success.
      • Lead and support the overall operational health of the organization, proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
      • Ensure that operational processes are aligned with programmatic needs and support the delivery of services in a way that maximizes impact on the community.
      • Participate in Board of Directors meetings and committees as needed.
      • Conduct research, review, evaluate, and analyze financial data, quotes, bids, proposals, and other administrative reports.
      • Prepare summaries, narrative analyses, and recommendations to improve operational performance.

    Safety and Security:

      • Oversee safety and security measures across all EOAC facilities and programs, ensuring both employee and client safety.
      • Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans tailored to the needs of EOAC's programs and services.

    IT Management:

      • Manage IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets organizational and programmatic needs.
      • Oversee IT contractors and ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
      • Ensure that technology solutions support program operations and facilitate seamless service delivery.

    Leadership and Human Resources:

      • Recruit, hire, and train competent facilities and maintenance personnel, and design department workflows.
      • Review and evaluate the performance and accuracy of facilities and maintenance personnel, making necessary adjustments including counseling, discipline, or termination.
      • Approve employee timesheets and time off requests, manage call-ins, and serve as the first point of contact for facilities staff.
      • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
      • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports, including facilities and maintenance staff, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
      • Oversee the professional development of employees within areas of functional oversight, promoting skill growth that enhances operational efficiency.

    Organizational Culture and Team Collaboration:

      • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and across the leadership team, ensuring that operations support organizational excellence.
      • Collaborate with other leaders to create a workplace culture consistent with EOAC’s mission, vision, guiding principles, and values.
      • Consciously create an environment that emphasizes diversity, supportiveness, effective collaboration, and shared accountability for outcomes.
      • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to support the successful planning, execution, and reporting of grants.
      • Ability to travel routinely locally to EOAC locations and to community meetings, and periodically overnight for training or industry events.

    Additional Duties:

      • Lead or assist in community events as needed, ensuring that operational logistics support successful event execution.
      • Attend meetings, travel to conferences, or attend trainings on behalf of EOAC or the position.
      • Perform other duties as assigned to support both operational and programmatic success.

    Knowledge and Skills:

      • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration.
      • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex operations.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
      • Knowledge of facilities management and maintenance protocols, safety and security measures, and IT management and data security.
      • Understanding of budgeting and financial planning processes, particularly in relation to supporting program outcomes.
      • Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff across functions and programs.
      • Strong ethical standards and commitment to EOAC’s mission.
      • Familiarity with local, state, and national regulations and standards.
      • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, effectively prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.

    Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Facilities Management, Safety Management, IT Management, or other related field or equivalent skills and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
      • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role within facilities management, maintenance, IT management, or related field.
      • Experience in managing a team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
      • Proven ability to manage budgets and financial planning, with a focus on optimizing both operational and programmatic outcomes.
      • Familiarity with local regulations, resources, and stakeholders in Waco, Texas, is preferred.
