    Position Summary

    The Nature-based Learning (NBL) Manager is responsible for the management of Rochester Ecology Partners innovative program that engages youth and educators in experiences that lead to academic growth, holistic wellness, and meaningful relationships. In this role, the NBL manager will take on the further development of WildWonder (nature-based learning with schools program), Neighborhood Nature (freetime program), and Leaf and Learn (professional learning for educators) in collaboration with staff and organizational partners. An enthusiastic person who wants to make change happen. The NBL Program Manager will play a key role in charting the path forward for this program and our organization’s future as a whole.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Program Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (40%)
      • Ensure the delivery of excellent programming that is fun, engaging, and impactful
      • Establish and maintain relationships with our partner schools and community organizations
      • Coordinate with partners and REP staff to schedule programming and planning meetings
      • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs
      • Recruit and retain participants for our Neighborhood Nature freetime programs
      • Develop curriculum for use with our school-based WildWonder Programming and NeighborhoodNature freetime programs
      • Play a leading role in our summer “Grow and Learn” professional learning program
    • Team Leadership and Management (40%)
      • Managing our team of nature-based learning educators and assistants
      • Collaborating with the Rochester Ecology Partners Staff and Team
      • Represent the values and guiding principles of Rochester Ecology Partners
    • Nature-based learning program facilitation (15%)
      • Deliver programming that is aligned with our organizational strategy plan
      • Serve as a site coordinator and educator for field studies
      • Facilitate nearby nature lessons
      • Lead Neighborhood Nature programming
      • Facilitate professional development for educators through our “Leaf and Learn” program
    • Participate in training and professional development programs (5%)

    Work Environment / Expectations

    • Full time 35-40 hours a week
    • Flexible schedule with general working hours from 8-4 Monday through Friday
    • Some evenings and weekends required
    • Flexible work-from-home policy
    • Outdoor work, in all types of weather, is an essential element of this position
    • Work in the field at schools, community organizations, and natural areas
